Ian Gurekian

Ian Gurekian is the CEO and Founder of AVIAN Inventory Management, an aviation capital and component solutions platform.
Ian has over 24 years of experience in the aviation financial services industry; leading teams, building platforms, and delivering value.
Prior to founding AVIAN, Ian was the Chief Risk Officer at Waypoint Leasing, a global helicopter leasing company. As a member of the executive team he was responsible for underwriting and platform development, ultimately growing the portfolio to over $1.6bn in assets across 166 helicopters.
Ian was also instrumental in the development, expansion and management of the aviation team at Brigade Capital with AUM in excess of $1bn. There he sourced, structured, and supervised a physical portfolio of over 90 commercial aircraft and 260 engines as well as trading ABS, equities and other aviation related securities.
Before Brigade he was Vice President, Product Evaluation & Strategy at GECAS (GE Commercial Aviation Services) which was the second largest commercial aircraft lessor in the world. Ian led research encompassing all industry metrics as well as aircraft type and valuation analytics as well as strategic portfolio planning.
Subsequent to completing his MBA in Aviation Management from Concordia University in Montreal, Ian began his aviation career at SH&E Air Transport Consultancy (Now ICF) based out of NYC performing management consulting engagements worldwide in the areas of privatization & restructuring.
